Thank you for choosing John Chin t/a Home Massage & Body Therapies for your professional massage.
These terms and conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and John Chin t/a Home Massage & Body Therapies.
Services
Home Massage & Body Therapies provide a range of massages that are performed in every case by John Chin L.S.S.M Dip, L.C.M Dip, T.C.M. Dip.
The contract for the purchase of the massage is between you and Mr. Chin, and this means that it is he who is legally responsible for providing the massage.
In order to make use of the massage services you must be over 18 years of age – or accompanied by an adult if you are under 18.
Please note that Mr. Chin cannot offer massages to pregnant women in their first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Personal Data
In order to provide a booking service, personal data may be collected from you.
Eligible Use
You confirm that you are of legal age to access and use the booking services and of legal capacity to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Booking Process & Payment
You can make a booking via telephone or WhatsApp message at 07552 114658 or via email at massageonthemove@live.co.uk
Once your booking is accepted and confirmed, you will receive confirmation of your appointment either by text message or email.
As the person making the booking, you are responsible for:
- Full payment of the applicable massage fee.
- Ensuring Mr. Chin has access to your premises (if this is preferred) which must, in all cases, offer a suitable space in which the massage can be performed.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment will only be accepted in cash, and full payment of the massage fee is due at the end of the massage.
Prices
The price of massages (each a ‘massage price’ and collectively ‘massage prices’) is £50 for a one hour appointment or £30 for a half-hour appointment.

Customer Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities noted above, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide complete and accurate information at the time of booking.
Failure to provide the same may result in a rejection of a booking request, cancellation of a booking or an inability to provide the massage as requested.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation of appointments at either Mr. Chin’s clinic (within Gym Fit, Clacton-on-Sea) or at the customer’s premises with less than 24 hours notice will result in 50% of the total booking becoming payable.
The late cancellation fee is charged if you cancel with short or no notice in order to compensate Mr. Chin because he cannot then provide massages at another booking.
Cancellation fees may, at Mr. Chin’s absolute discretion, be waived when you have been unable to cancel a booking because of genuine reasons which were outside of your control.
Unless there is a case of Force Majeure (see below), you have a contractual entitlement to cancel any booking you have made and you must share the intention to cancel the booking via either Telephone/WhatsApp or email using the details provided on the website.
The request is only finalised once you have received the cancellation confirmation from Mr. Chin.
Extensions and Delays
If you wish to extend the time you have booked with Mr. Chin, he will endeavour to fulfil your request. This is subject to his availability and the payment of an additional charge for the extended time.
If you are delayed and unable to start the massage at the designated premises at the appointment time, unless Mr. Chin agrees to the contrary;
- He is entitled to end the massage at the time agreed when the booking was made without making any adjustment to the massage fee to reflect the reduced time of the massage; or
- If you and Mr. Chin agree to proceed with the massage for the full time allotted – notwithstanding the delayed start time – then Mr. Chin shall be entitled to receive, and you shall be obliged to pay, before the relevant massage is given.
Force Majeure
Every effort is made by Mr. Chin to provide the service booked by you, the customer.
However, some circumstances beyond his control may prevent this. Examples include (but are not limited to) the following, all of which make it impossible for him to meet his obligations;
- Adverse or severe weather conditions such as heavy snowfall or floods
- Road traffic accidents
- Unforeseen traffic delays or road closures
- Warfare and acts of terrorism (and threat thereof)
- Problems caused by other customers
- Significant risk to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease
- Natural or nuclear disaster
- Fire, chemical or biological disaster
- Unavoidable technical problems
- All similar events outside of Mr. Chin’s control
If it is not possible to provide the booked service due to Force Majeure, Mr. Chin will try to reschedule your appointment for another time.
Inappropriate behaviour and/or violence
John Chin t/a Home Massage & Body Therapies has a zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behaviour, sexual harassment or violence, and any inappropriate behaviour against him will be reported to the Police.
If Mr. Chin considers himself to be in one of these scenarios or doesn’t feel comfortable with the situation he is in, he is entitled to leave the premises immediately and to notify the Police.
No refund will be given as a result, even if the appointment has not started or been completed.
Intellectual Property
John Chin t/a Home Massage & Body Therapies, the Home Massage & Body Therapies logo, brand and all other intellectual property rights, trademarks, service marks, graphics and logos used in connection with the website and/or the services are protected by intellectual property law. Modification & Termination
Mr. Chin may modify his terms or change massage prices from time to time. He may also change, suspend, terminate or discontinue availability of certain massages at any time and for any reason.
Other
Mr. Chin prefers to bring his welsh terrier, Mirreille, to all appointments, whether at the customer’s own premises or at Mr. Chin’s clinic inside Gym Fit, Clacton-on-Sea, and only with the prior and express permission of the client.
If customers prefer Mr. Chin not to have his dog at their appointment, they should advise him in advance.
No refunds will be given should a customer refuse to go ahead with the massage without having previously advised Mr. Chin of the requirement for his dog to be absent.
